The burdens placed on appraisers in busy markets have prevented many from taking on trainees. AXIS has spearheaded a movement with Collateral Risk Network (CRN) to reduce the barriers for supervisors in taking on a trainee. At AXIS, we support the use of trainees in reports, although some of our lenders have varying processes for their use, so always check with your account executive before deploying them on an assignment. For individuals looking to begin a career in appraising, we have put together state requirements and also recommend participating in a PAREA program as an alternative to the traditional trainee model.
